Town Guide

Deep River has established itself as a home for all seasons! It has so many activities and events to keep you entertained all year long.

If you’re a winter lover, we’ve got the Mount Martin Ski Club which is home to 12 runs and is patrolled by the Canadian Ski Patrol during day and night skiing. For information on the Ski Club please contact the MMSC at info@mountmartin.ca We also have 17 kilometers of groomed cross country ski trails on the east end of town available to those who are interested.

If skiing is not your style the North Renfrew Snowmobile Corporation grooms and maintains 150 kilometers of beautiful, well-signed trails through wooded areas all along the Valley starting at Chalk River, and making it’s way through to Stonecliffe. The NRSC comprises of two snowmobile clubs; The Laurentian Snow Gliders and the Valley Snow Travelers, each of whom have their own chalet.

In the summer, we have 2 beautiful beaches, Lamure Beach and Pine Point beach. Lamure is lifeguard patrolled during the day and offers many interactive activities during the weeks of summer.

For the avid golfers, we have a 9-hole golf course that offers a par of 72 over 18 holes including 2 water holes. For tee-off times and group bookings please contact the golf course directly at 613-584-3991.

For boaters, Deep River is conveniently located along the historic Ottawa River which is home to more than a handful of natural sandy beaches along the Quebec side of the River. Many beaches are maintained by the River Recreation Improvement Association and are provided with picnic tables and toilet facilities. These beaches offer ideal camping locations for beach lovers and a perfect opportunity to barbeque on the beach after a long day fishing, waterskiing, sightseeing or leisure boating!

If you’re traveling on the river the Deep River Marina is a gateway to more than 400 kilometers of the Ottawa River waterways. The marina offers slips to accommodate over 90 boats, as well as visitor slip rentals and boat launching. Downtown is within 2 minutes walking distance. For Marina information call 584-2000 or 584-1258 from May-October.
